Sleepy Noise

Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026

The short version: The Sleepy Noise app doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and everything you set up stays on your phone. This website is different in one way: it uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which sounds people play.

Who we are

Sleepy Noise is made by NewCulture, based in Clayton, North Carolina. In this policy, "we" means NewCulture and "the app" means Sleepy Noise on iPhone and Android.

What we collect

Nothing. The app has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it never sends information about you or how you use it to us or anyone else.

What stays on your device

To work, the app saves your choices on your phone:

  • your chosen sound ("My Sound"), favorites and their order
  • mixes you save and the volume you set for each sound
  • sleep timer, fade-in and safer-volume settings
  • bedtime reminders you create

We can't see any of this. Deleting the app deletes it. If you use your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google), those settings may be included in that backup under your account, the same as for other apps.

Sounds

Every sound is generated or played on your phone. The app doesn't stream audio and doesn't need an internet connection to play.

Bedtime reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your phone as local notifications. They don't pass through any server. The app asks for notification permission only when you turn a reminder on, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.

Purchases

Sleepy Noise Lifetime is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment, so we never receive your payment details, name or email address. The app only asks the store whether Lifetime has been purchased on your account, so it can unlock it. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

Permissions

The app does not use your microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos. On Android it asks for notification permission (only for reminders) and runs a media playback service so sound keeps playing with the screen off.

Children

Sleepy Noise is used by parents to play sounds for their children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

This website

Everything above is about the app. This website, sleepynoise.app, uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages and sounds they use, and which buttons work. It collects:

  • pages viewed, how you arrived (for example a search engine or another site) and roughly how long you stayed
  • player activity: which sound you played, how long it played, and timers you chose
  • clicks on buttons such as the App Store and Google Play links
  • your browser, device type and screen size, and an approximate location (country and city) that Google derives from your connection

Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell one visit from the next. It doesn't log or store IP addresses. We've turned off Google signals and ad personalization, and we don't sell this data. We keep it for no more than 14 months. Google processes it under its own privacy policy.

Your choice. In the EU and EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec, analytics stays off until you allow it, and the site asks first. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out. Anywhere, you can turn analytics cookies on or off at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; turning them off stops Google Analytics and deletes its cookies. You can also block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. The sound players work the same either way.

The site has no ads, and our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject you pick, your message and, if you add it, your phone model. Our host, Netlify, stores the submission and emails it to us. We use it only to reply and to fix what you report, we don't add you to any mailing list, and we don't sell it. Ask us at any time to delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever starts collecting any data, we'll say so here and in the app before it happens.
