Thunder that doesn't wake you
Most thunderstorm tracks are recordings, and real thunder is loud. Some cracks sit 30 dB above the rain, which is why a storm video that sounded relaxing at 10 p.m. can wake you at 2.
This storm is generated. Each roll fades in over a second or so, peaks low and decays over several seconds, at random intervals. The rain under it runs at about 5,000 drops a minute.
Part of the Rain & Storms pack
In the app, Thunderstorm is one of four sounds in Rain & Storms, included with Sleepy Noise Lifetime: a one-time purchase with no subscription. The pack adds three real recordings too: Soft Rainfall, Rain & Rolling Thunder and Distant Storm, with the loud cracks compressed so they don't startle.
