How this bowl is made
This isn't a recording of a bowl; it's built from how bowls ring. A struck bowl's overtones aren't neat multiples of the base note, and each one fades at its own pace. The base note here is A at 216 Hz, in 432Hz tuning, with four overtones that beat gently and decay over two to nine seconds.
Every strike lands at a slightly different strength and time, so there's no pattern to wait for. Under it runs a quiet hum on the same note.
For winding down
Many people use singing bowls for meditation or the last few minutes before sleep. In Sleepy Noise you can set a timer so it fades out after 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or mix it over brown noise or ocean waves. It's part of the Tuned to 432Hz pack with the 432Hz tones, included with Lifetime. This page plays a 60-second preview.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a Tibetan singing bowl recording?
No. It's synthesized from the way a bowl rings, tuned to A = 432Hz, so it never loops or repeats a strike exactly.
How often is the bowl struck?
Every 15 to 25 seconds, at random, with a slightly different strength each time.
