Thunder, tamed
In the original recording the thunder cracks sat about 30 dB above the rain, loud enough to wake anyone. We ran them through a slow compressor so they still read as thunder, just farther away.
If you love storms but not surprises, this is the one. For steady rain under steady thunder, try Rain & Rolling Thunder.
Part of Rain & Storms

Frequently asked questions
Is distant thunder good for sleep?
Many people find a far-off storm relaxing. The key is that the thunder stays low, which is why this recording's loudest moments were softened.
Are these real thunder sounds?
Yes. Distant Storm is a recording. Thunderstorm, in the same pack, is synthesized.
